Job Description : • Looking after total material application methods & implementing the same for melt shop requirements.
• Updating Work Instructions & Work procedure (SOP) and training to same to staff.
• Investigations of failures and developing & implementing a system to avoid failure (Considering key factor & contributing factor).
• Initiating & conducting trials which are suitable for the shop floor to increase the furnace availability / to reduce the cost per ton of steel / to developing alternative supplier.
• Yearly procurement planning & recommendations based on technical (targeted) & economical (budgeted) performance of supplier’s.
• Monitoring consumption, cost & performance of furnaces with-in the budgeted consumption.
• Participating with Process engineers to Optimization of plant production facilities.
• Also looking after DR-Plant’s / Rolling mill’s refractory requirements / shutdown planning.
