Summary:  A postgraduate in History, Basudev Mahapatra is a Journalist - Documentary Filmmaker - Non-fiction TV programmes Director - Producer based in Bhubaneswar - the capital city of Orissa, India. Basudev learnt the ropes of journalism, communication and audio-visual production from his vast experience in print, television as well as web media and through numerous production-directions of non-fictional TV shows, series and documentary films - a career journey that took off in the 1992.
So far, a few highlights of my career as a Reporter, TV News Producer and Documentary Filmmaker are,
• Produced ‘Kandhamal into Tear’ – A special TV news report of 7 Minutes Duration on the violence that continued for about two months in Kandhamal district of Orissa Province in India and its impact on the Christian community of the District. The Report was broadcasted on \\\'Udland\\\' News bulletin of DR2 Channel (Denmark) on October 17, 2008.
• Made Profile features on young achievers and state of the art academic campuses in multiple states of India like Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Jharkhand on some of the top ranked institutes and youth of India who have made themselves role model for many. The features are made for ETV Network’s cross channel career based youth magazine ‘Yuva Bharat’.
• Successfully covered and filed News Features from Orissa on behalf of renowned international News Agency Associated Press Television News (APTN) during February 2006 – December 2007. .
