To receive the fresh note remittances from various printing presses and disbursal through scheduled commercial banks
To ensure security arrangements for inward and outward movement of currency to currency chests. Inspection of currency chests attached to different Banks.
Disposal of soiled notes under various procedures recd from currency chests.
To ensure proper accounting of remittances.
2 Department of Banking Operations and Development And Dept of Banking Supervision
To monitor the performance of Banks –On Site and Off Site.
Financial Inspection of branches ,controlling offices and their Head Offices.
To ensure Regulatory Compliance by the Banks and compliance to inspection reports of R B I.
To ensure compliance to S E B I guidelines by Banks while acting as Bankers to the Issue.
To view Merchant Banking and Insurance activities.
3. Department of Non Banking Finance Companies (NBFC’S)
To monitor the performance of N B F C’S- on site or off site
Financial Inspection on periodical basis to judge the financial position of N B F C’S.

To ensure the up keep of office Buildings / Residential Colonies of R B I at different Centers and Administrative work also.

Issuance of instructions to the Banks for implementing Various Poverty alleviation programs to uplift weaker sections of the society

To regulate the performance of Regional Rural Banks and Dist CO-operative Banks. Implementation of recommendations of various committees and Working Group.

9. Achievements
With a view to increase the outreach of Banking sector and boost the economic development of different States a few Working Groups were set up by Reserve Bank and the members were drawn from different fields. I was picked by the top Management as Member representing Central office for the state of Himachal Pradesh. The working Group was headed by Regional director Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Other Group members were Finance Secretary, Industries Secretary and other seniors of Govt Of Himachal Pradesh and senior Bankers. The Report was submitted in stipulated time and was accepted by the Top Management. The report is available on the web site of Reserve Bank Of India. The recommendations have been implemented and visible changeschanges are observed in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
As a Dy General Manager in my routine work I had responsibility to look after two divisions Viz Lead Bank Scheme and Poverty Alleviation Programmes. In addition to my routine I was given responsibility to take charge of Mumbai Regional Office of the Department and Administration including Establishment for pretty long period .Being in charge of Regional Office I had attended meetings at State Level as Reserve Bank of India Representative chaired by the chairman of commercial Bank .Members were Senior State Govt officials and participants were of Commercial Banks, Regional Rural banks, Co-op banks, Private Sector Banks ,Foreign Banks. The focus of the meeting was to strengthen the credit delivery system and timely availably of credit.
During the period of my posting at Guwahati I had Established the dep’t known as Non Banking Financial Companies for North Eastern Region which was functioning at Kolkata since inception. The dep’t is a booster for North Eastern States under Regional Director of North East.
10. During my service I had attended good number of training programmes and workshops which had helped to sharpen my skills. Some of the important are;- Micro Finance-New Vision , Prog on Treasury Mgt , Mgt Development in Co operatives and Rural F Is ,Prog on Merchant Banking Activities ,Priority sector Lending , Behavioral Sciences and Discipline Management ,Leadership, Prog on Time Mgt and Communication , Personnel Administration Program me etc.
