Profile Synopsis

Summary:  BRIEF OF MAJOR ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT

1. Offshore based operations in view of my experience at Uran in terms of insight to Engg. Aspect (1983 – 1992) being as I/c Technical Services & experience of planning of input & monitoring production of gas & crude oil at Assam Asset during 1992-1995.

2. Prior to above assignment, at Trombay Terminal, I part of team supervising Team was associated with conversion of Trombay Installations from low pressure system to matching pressures of Offshore.

3. Commissioned a number of custody Transfer meters for crude oil at BPCL, Butcher Island, LPG meters at BPCL & HPCL at Mahul & Gas meters at HPCL & HPCL premises at refineries during 1980 - 1983

4. While working in Shift operations, I have carried out Energy Audit of entire Uran Complex. Subsequently, as I/c Technical services, conceptualized requirement of Additional Cogeneration Unit at Uran & the same was implemented later.

5. Associated with design Review of various plants at Uran & Hazira including C2_C3 design review.

6. First time HAZOP/HAZAN studies carried out thru’ EIL with backup consultants Creamer & Warner, U.K. This was done jointly by me & Later Shri S.P. Singh. Operating procedure of Uran facilities were reviewed based on recommendation of studies.

7. On transfer back to Mumbai in 1995, I was posted at Neelam Offshore as Process I/c. During that period, Glycol loss was about 2 bbl/day. First task assigned to me was to bring back to normal. This was achieved by controlling parameters.

8. With my own initiative, I have started monitoring performance of wells. In the process I have developed data for entire testing report in Harvard Graphic software.

OTHERS

1. As part of erstwhile Tech. Cell of H-OBG, Gas Management for entire ONGC was assigned. During this period, issue of non utilization of gas from isolated locations became a major issue due to GAIL’s passive approach. It was taken up with GoI, after continued persuasions; GoI, allowed ONGC to market such gases to monetize such scarce commodity.

2. I was also deputed to Vietnam for 7 days for discussion on Gas measurement allocation principle with BP-State oil JV partner in Vietnam Block. The same could be finalized amicably.

3. I was also part of first Disinvest Core Team of ONGC by Executive Committee, ONGC.

4. I have completed Sanghsaptak Executive Management Program for future potential Directors sponsored by ONGC at ISB – Houston University. I have been part of Second batch.


MARKETING ACTIVITIES

I. Associated with preparation of BLUE PRINT of Marketing Services & Agenda accordingly put up EC approved recommendations.

II. To circumvent NGL spiking with crude, prepared exhaustive plan for converting Uran NGL to Naphtha & thereafter, 1st cargo was sold to the international trader thru services of HPCL.

III. Model Contracts for crude/gas/VAPs were developed thru’ Ernst & Young.

IV. No. of Special studies carried out by IOGPT/IIP/DDN/IOC, R&D

V. C2-C3 Supply Agreement Price revision successfully negotiated. Price review of C2-C3 negotiated with RIL & Supplementary Agreement signed in 2006.

VI. Associated with the study by TERI for strategy development for ONGC products.

VII. Pricing study for crudes of ONGC thru’ PEL

VIII. I have been part of Negotiating team for successfully concluding MOU for crude supply with PSU refiners’ functions to GAIL.

IX. In consultation with ASSET, IRS, Custody Transfer Point wise profile prepared. The same was approved in EC.

X. More than 50 Gas supply Agreements renewed/concluded & signed. As result of protracted negotiations, erstwhile contracts renewed w.e.f. 1 Apr’05 with a provision to limiting APM supplies & additional gas at market price.

XI. All contracts have been regularized. Now number of GSAs’ in Western Region has now increased in phases from erstwhile 36 GSAs to 86 now.

XII. Second round of negotiation initiated by the committee headed by undersigned prepared Draft COSA for Negotiation. COSAs are under discussion with PSU Refineries.

XIII. Naphtha ex-Ankleshwar Asset tied up in domestic Market & as a result, Naphtha production commenced after two (2) years.

XIV. Efforts of Vadodara Marketing resulted in identifying potential C2 Liquid from Dahej Hydrocarbon Processing Plant.

XV. Long pending dues settled thru’ Negotiated Settlement resulted in recovering more than Rs. 150 Crs. Since 2006.

XVI. Out of all marketing setup in ONGC, Vadodara Marketing is only ISO 9001:2000 certified.
