Profile Synopsis

Summary: I am a Ph.D. in linguistics with specialisation in the areas of sociolinguistics and quantitative linguistics. I worked for the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India for over twenty five years and was attached to their Linguistic Research Unit as Head for over nine years. During my tenure at the Indian Statistical Institute I had the opportunity to work in the areas of measurement of bilingualism, language attitudes, language policy and planning, acoustic and articulatory phonetics, speech pathology, linguistic demography and text linguistics I also worked in the Learning and Development Dept. of HSBC, India for three years especially in the areas of English Language Teaching and English for Specific Purposes.. I am also CELTA certified.

What do I have to offer (Haves): Share my experiences about teaching and researching in dfferent areas of linguistics and ELT.

What do I seek (Wants):  Would love to share my experiences especially in Sociolinguistics, language policy and planning, quantitative linguistics, bilingualism and also ELT/ESP.
