I believe this is to be answered at the time of taking a decision and not when games are being commenced .
once a decision is taken it is the responsibility of all indians , governments , citizens , organizations responsibility to conduct in a befitting manner.
Sports and games are sources of increase physical features , tolerance ,stamina and strength of younger generation and is a necessity for present generation for all round developement of a child
Only point here we raise is to construct permanent structures which will lost long and not for a year with less corruption.. Dev-elope the play grounds in association with city's and schools Answered by Satya Narayana Palukuru , Advocates & Mediators at Advocate , Hyderabad | 30, Sep 2010 09:08 AM

The sport persons of the country need extensive training for performing better in international events and there is no funds for that. - According to Oxford dictionary definition of corrupt (adj.):having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain. All what we say is corruption, bribe. Let's not blame corruption, just change your perspective and ask a question to yourself Why does this corruption in Indians?. Relating to above definition is being dishonesty. My next question is Why does this dishonesty among Indians? New Zealand doesn't has corruption or for that sake Japan, then why do Indians alone? The answer is simple that we don’t have values in our lives. Humanity, a responsibility in their appointed tasks is absent. - To get a status at global scenario, it is must to paticipate in such type of activities. To bring the coming generation more close to the sports field, it is obligatory to organize such games.Corruption is like a cancer in India. It doesn't mean that by fear of it we may stop all activities & just seat idealy. We should fight to eradicate it, rather waiting for help. There might be some good people among us, who can be brought forward to take responsibility on their shoulder to carry on the task so that we may sing " Sare Jahan se achcha Hindustan Hamara". - In our beloved country any project involving large amount of national money ,if scruitinised properly, will appear to be a wastage only because of the shameless & corrupt persons handling the same. The story is the same whether you look at building a metro;international airport or roads & highways. But that doesn't mean that the country should stop investing in these facilities. In the same way commonwealth games also when viewed in right perspective can turn out to be source of inspiration to young sportspersons and also bring fame to the country. What is needed is not stopping the holding of games but to ensure that the organising team is dedicated and selfless. All those found guilty of corruption in such high value events should ...See More Answered by Arun Lal | 05, Aug 2010 12:55 PM

There are two categories,
One is Gainers and other one is Loosers.
If the Gainer list includes the hard core people who struggled day and night irrespective of timings as a labourers, sport persons, needy people, sport acedemies, improvement on sports, identifying the new talent to explore etc., - if all these are their then it will be a SUCCESSFUL.
If the loosers list includes the politicians, officials, sponsorers, big hotels, big transport companies etc., are their in this list then also it will be SUCCESSFUL.

if because of corruption, inefficiency, delays etc we do not undertake activities, we will be doing nothing, sporting or otherwise. No roads, schools, airports nothing. Let us be critical of all that is going wrong, but not say that we should not hold these events.
Mreover we cannot be a world leader without hosting such events once in a while. I would say it is high time we hosted the Asian games again. We may not be prepared for the olympics as yet though.

- No, they are not a waste of national money because we can not isolate ourselves from the rest of the world in these days of inclusive growth and globalisation simply for the reason being the poverty of the people in our country. Growth of a country and amelioration of the poor - both go hand in hand. The GOI is very much seized with the other aspect and doing its best in that regard too. And the current controversies raked by the CVC and the financial irregularities by a UK firm with the CWG Organising Committee - these will naturally be taken care of in the normal course. But the haste in which it is happening really makes one wonder how long will this last?. The second thing is that our planners are short sighted and are focusing only on the Games now. After the games is over all the stadia and other sports infrastructure will be left to rot. But a better way to manage this is to use this as the foundation for building strong sports infrastructure in the country and work towards becoming a Sports Superpower. Yes offcourse, i believe promoting any game is a national waste, for every player it is his profession, a source of earning money, nothing else, it hardly matters whether the country wins or looses, we have seen players prefered to shoot an add than attending a award ceremony.
in olden days, sports were encouraged, so that a king can choose talent /skill for recruiting soldiers. today, by encouraging sports, we are encouraging corruption, people wasting time in watching sports, feeling happy/ unhappy over the performance of the player, where as it is just a daily business for player.
in my view- supporting any game is an utter waste of time, electricity, money and man power.

No doubt, games and sports should get their due attention and the platform for such events is Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Olympics etc. But how many medals are we going to garner is a question looming large on all of us. Hosting such a game at the altar of the poor peasants must be discouraged. While the common man is fighting against price rise and tax burdens, the poor are fighting to make a livelihood.
It would rather be advisable for the government to concentrate on developments and upliftment of the downtrodden. Growing economy alone is not a criteria of our developed status but the happiness of its citizens is of prime importance. I salute Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar on his outbursts and the concerns he carry. Very Good Debate Going on.
To host and organise such events in nation makes us pride of us. In 1982 we have hosted ASIAD 82, ICC World Cup in 1987 and other similar International events.
To Burden the common man Pocket for these events are never good. Rather It could have been given or got sponsored by Giant Corporate World. We should not waste National Exchequer for such unproductive events while our country is struggling for Development.
It would been better to use even a fraction of this amount on the development of Sports in the country so that we can make a habit and urge to WIN the MEDALS.
This will bring more smile on our face. Answered by ALOK KUMAR , DGM Finance & MIS at Sukhbir Agro Energy Ltd. | 29, Jul 2010 01:05 PM

COMMONWEALTH GAMES IS DEFINITELY NOT WASTE OF MONEY
RATHER IT PROMOTES THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP AMONG DIFFERENT PARTICIPANTS OF COMMONWEALTH PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES.iT IS A PRELUDE TO HOSTING ASIAN GAMES AND OLYMPICS. WE HAVE TO COMPARE SIMILAR EVENTS HOSTED BY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES.THE MONEY SPENT DOES NOT RESTRICT TO SPORTS ONLY IT IS ACASCADING EFFECT WHEREI NFRASTRUCTURE.,BUILDERS,CONTRACTORS,TRAVEL AND TOURISM AND OTHERS SECTORS DO GET BENEFITTED.
