Ayodhya beyond judicial resolution.

The Allahabad High Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya title suits will hardly resolve the dispute. That is a task to be accomplished outside the courts, through political practice.

Political parties must accept this responsibility and conduct themselves accordingly. To say the Republic’s institutional integrity is supreme is one thing, but for the courts to be able to modulate societal behaviour to the constitutional norm is something else altogether.

Suppose the high court rules that the Waqf board is the rightful owner of the property on which the Babri mosque stood before its demolition in December 1992.

Will that make Hindu groups, especially members of the Sangh Parivar, the group of organisations ideologically and tactically guided by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, reconcile themselves to not building a temple at what they believe to be the birthplace of Ram?

Will the Waqf board be right to remove the idols of Ram being worshipped at a makeshift shrine built at the site where the mosque once stood?

If, on the other hand, the court upholds a pro-temple title claim, would that mean that Muslims should recognise the entire movement to demolish the mosque, launched in 1982, complete with its blood spoor of hatred and violence, as legitimate?

Whichever side loses the case on Thursday is bound to go on appeal to the Supreme Court. That would only push back the day of reckoning, not make the questions disappear.

The obvious answer to these questions shows the majesty of the law rests, ultimately, on the will of the people, in whose name laws are enacted and upheld.

The will of the people is articulated by political parties. They must behave with responsibility.

The Congress would want no strife in the wake of the court verdict. The BJP, too, would want to avoid an immediate backlash that could see off their valuable ally in Bihar, but that would not restrain its allies in the Parivar.

Mulayam and Lalu would want to play aggressive champions of Muslims; so might Mayawati. Muslims should resist such patronage and focus on strengthening democracy, the sole guarantor of minority rights.

  • If the politicians are permitted to handle this issue it will never get settled. There comes some moments in the life of a Nation when it is forced to sort out such issue and correct the errors committed centuries ago. Hindus have been struggling since five centuries and lacs and lacs persons have sacrificed their life for the temple site. If it is proved that there was a temple and still lies buried, then nation has to be be courageous enough to remedy the mistake committed by some fanatic long time back intoxicated by brute ruling power of that time. It is debt of history which has to be discharged and that time has come, unless more sacrifice is required.

When they shed great amount of variagated CROCODILE TEARS for both sides of the fence, they are the greatest hermaprodites who keep discreetly silent of the nefarious activities of the community of "***&***" who have desecreted and defiled the thousands of HISTORICAL Temples in East Pakistan and Bangladesh. Art-lovers are great , and they will do anything for their passions. So, hypocriscy is the ORDER OF THE DAY.

  • The judgement is potically motivated where two major political parties joined hands. The court forgot the barbaric act that a structure was demolished by force claiming innocent lives in 1992. The judgement has legalized the above barbaric act paving way for such incidents in the future. The judgement will pave the way for hindusthan instead of a secular Bharat

THE COURT'S DECISION HAS STRENGTHENED LAW AND ORDER PROBLEM AND GIVEN THE GOVERNMENT A LEGITIMATE RIGHT TO USE ITS POWER. But the question is do all country men consider country supreme than religion or religion is bigger than borders. There might be a section of society which feels that a wrong done almost five hundred years ago has been corrected. TALKS WHAT TALKS? TWO NATIONS TWO RELIGIOUS SITES, TWO PARTITIONS, NO OTHER SOLUTION.

  • The verdict of the court was in the right direction. The issue is settled by the court now that the place is Ram janmabhoomi. How the Mosque was built and who built it is immaterial. However, the issue will be settled only by the will of the people by clean political practise and unfortunately we do not have a single political party in this country having that clean intention. Thus the concerned responsible persons from both Hindu and Muslim comunities should come togather and resolve the issue amicably keeping in mind that both has to co-exist in this country peacefully. Both the communites had committed mistakes and atrocities, but this is not the time to recount that and we should move forward in the interest of humanity and build a beautifull Temple and Mosque, where ppeople of all ...See More

My humble request to all three parties to please sit together and carry out some social welfare activities for the upliftment of mankind irrespective of cast ,creed and religion with the financial assistance of Central & State Govts. This may be done on constructing some primary/secondary schools/colleges and hospitals on the said land.
This would help to strengthen our democracy as well as proper respect to each religion. So far my knowledge goes the main objective of each religion relates to upliftment of Mankind only.

  • Ayodhya issue has been there for decades, the actual solution lies with the people, neither any court nor politicians can resolve this, the courts would go by the evidence produced before them, whereas politicians will only aggravate the issue to suit their vote banks, this issue is of faith & relegious sentiments which are deep rooted in the minds of people, there should be a voting system, wherein general public can voice their opinions and agreement reached upon through majority.

  • The issue is being unduly blown out of proportion by media and those having vested interest in such media hype. Imagine, with such hype the mass is not even aware of crucial court decisions impacting their lives and livelihood. Let the issue take its own course, without interference by media, political perties and any social or religious group. Ram or Rahim or their so called creators in the Allahabad High Court are not liable to feed the mass, defend the country in danger, clean the society of corruption, immune of pollution, social evils, superstition, poverty, illness, unemployment and many other burning issues looming large. The younger generation (even those elders, young by heart), to simply ignore and boycot any further media hype on this isse.

Therefore political solutions won't resolve the issue rather they will complecate the issue. This issue can be solved through issue based ballot from peoples of india or amicable settlement between the religious leaders.

  • The Court Verdict is loud and clear. While the title suits have been dismissed, equal part of land has been ordered for three main parties. Neither Ram is existing nor Babar is living. We have now crossed about 500 years. It is time that three parties sit together and demarcate their portions of land. Thereafter, with mutual cooperation build temple and masjid. Indians can do it.

  • There are more important issues to be resolves than a piece of land. No one can deny that the piece of land belongs to INDIA right. The fact remains that there was a temple complex there till Babar came and utilised it for building a mosque. Nobody can deny history and facts. so, there have been prayers offered at the site by both muslims and hindus. And when God says "I am everywhere", who are we humans to bind him to one place. The court has also given a very good judgment and all the disputing parties should adhere to it without furthering the judicial process. We should bear it in our mind by prolonging the dispute no one in India is benefitted except the politicians.

It makes great impact on common man's opinions. So once the opinions are made because of media and the court's verdict, the wish of people automatically follow. People now know the preciousness of 'Shanti' and will try to follow at the best. Adv. Neelima Mysore.

I wish the verdict doesn't swing either ways , rather it is done keeping the social angle in mind. • India as a country believes in the principle of rule of land. The matter produced before the court is not matter of faith, but matter of title on a particular property. If BMC can take decisions on illegal structures (including temples), then why not the High court. The matter to be decided is not on faith, religion, or gods but on a land which is governed by lands laws of the nation.

What we should think now is does the high court has the free will void of political and religious colour to pressure to take a decision on such a sensitive matter, and not ponder whether Ayodhya is beyond the Jurisdiction of Law.

It is a well known fact that eversince the first muslim set his foot on the Indian subcontinent thousands of hindu temples were destroyed and mosques built in their place. Babari Masjid is just one of them. Since such crimes were perpetrated by the muslim rulers themselves it is quite likely they might have conferred the ownership rights to a wakf board or some such authority. Thus encroachers would have become legitimate owners of the property of the encroached. Since Courts only rely on evidence they may be compelled to decide in favour of the encroachers though it is totally against justice.

Tell me frankly how many of us are real Hindus or Muslims. Actually we have never been able to follow the principles laid down by our forefathers. I read some where that people who died because of religion is far greater than people killed in wars. If we are truly religious then what is need of high alert, can't we accept the decision of the Hon'ble Court graciously. These events gives us a chance to check our mind, our patience, our education, our love for our country, our love for other communities and foremost our understanding of religion or God.

Even with 8 out of 16 past Chief-Justice were corrupt, it is 50% honest versus 50% corrupt. This is a much better ratio than the politicians which, at best, can be 1 honest against 99 corrupt.
